Cuffed Empire Pleated Saffron Silk Dupioni Lampshade

This lampshade called a cuffed empire because of the vertical "cuff" along the bottom circumference. We covered the frame in a brilliant saffron colored silk dupioni silk and pleated it in a classic 1/2 knife French pleat so as to offer a lux modern feel. The interior is white. We added Samuel and Son's Veranda Linen Crete Item number GB-58854-11 Color 11 Goldenrod - see close up photo and a Cambridge Cord in a soft gray is mounted under the top self trim. This shade is perfectly sized for a tall narrow, slightly bulbous lamp or a floor lamp. It's for a person who appreciates couture lighting in their home. Not so much for task lighting, this is a mood and accent lampshade. It measures 18in across the bottom and is a 10in top. The slant is 14" and has a brass washer and spider. EVERY ILLUME STUDIO LAMPSHADE IS HANDMADE. The frame, fabric, trims and other materials that comprise a designer studio lampshade were locally sourced and are sewn together by our skilled sewer. No automated or mass production processes are used to create our lampshades. Every lampshade we create in our studio is made one at a time, unique and truly a labor of love-stitch by stitch. And glue is always used sparingly.
